As the contributor, we want you to be as original as you can be. Use your imaginative mind to empower, inspire and challenge women all across the world. We look forward to hearing your ideas for this issue below!
WINTER 2025 - Harvest & Tradition
As we head into winter, following our work on building a firm foundation in and around us and focusing on spiritually resting, we come to a place of recognizing tradition — our heritage. Tradition looks different for every person, especially across the world. We will be reflecting on traditions passed from generation to generation, which often come with transformations that either have happened or you want to happen. This is the perfect season to ruminate on and embrace change, while holding to what past generations have set before you. This theme will cover a broad range of inspiration and challenges for our readers.
Fall is a season of transition, a bridge between what was and what's to come. As leaves turn and days shorten, we're reminded of the beauty in cycles: of creation, pause,, and renewal. This issue celebrates that rhythm.
In this issue, we explore how women are redefining tradition - shaping rituals that reflect who we are today while honoring where we've come from. We look at what it means to "harvest" not just food or accomplishments, but expereinces, wisdom, and joy.
Through essays, interviews, and creative features, this issue gathers stories about belonging, legacy, and change. Whether it's the recipes that bring families to the table, the creative projects that anchor us in the present, or the quiet reflections that guide us forward, Harvest & Tradition reminds us that growth doesn't stop when the year slows down, it simply deepens.
Sections May Include:
Becoming: The growth that comes from reflection and release.
Canvas: Creative traditions from decorating to crafting to cooking.
Rhythms: Routines that ground us during busy seasons.
Rooted: The values that connect us, reimagined for today.
Voices: Shared stories of celebration, gratitude, and connection.
Tone: thoughtful, poetic, and communal
We want to go for an issue grounded in self-awareness and inclusivity.
Focus on what this theme looks like within the different areas of Becoming, Rooted, Canvas, Rhythms, and Voices. Keep in mind, we are wanting to stay with the SLD vision of creating raw and honest conversations through our content (check out our About page online for more information on our vision).
